Return Policy

Return Policy for General Merchandise and Non Viking VALUE

 

  • All returns must be accompanied by the original receipt.
  • All refunds are issued in the same form as original payment.
  • Special orders and clearance merchandise sales are final.
All returns and exchanges must be brough to the HVCC Troy bookstore. If other arrangements are required, please call 518-629-7157. 
 

General Merchandise & Clothing:

  • Returnable within 14 calendar days of the purchase date in brand new condition with original tags. 

All Electronics:

  • Calculators, computers and other electronics are non-refundable to the bookstore. Customers should contact the manufacturer for warranty information. 
Physical Textbooks and Access Cards:
 
  • Refunds are given no later than 14 calendar days from the first day of class for Spring and Fall semester in which they are sold and 7 calendar days for Summer and Sprint sessions. To receive a full refund, book must not be marked or damaged and still in original packaging. Physical access cards and codes must still be in their sealed packaging and original condition. 
VitalSource eBooks:

  • Refunds are given within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. You must not have viewed or printed more than 20% of the eBook or not viewed or redeemed the publisher’s access code. VitalSource does not allow returns outside of these parameters and is unable to process refunds through our registers. For further information, please visit VitalSource.

Return Policy for Viking VALUE


If you choose to opt out of Viking VALUE, refunds for the cost of the program are based on the date of the student's add/drop, complete termination or official course withdrawal as noted below.


For parts of Term greater than 8 weeks in duration: 

Requested prior to the start of the Part of Term: 100% of Viking VALUE fees.

Requested during the first week of the Part of Term: 75% of Viking VALUE fees.

Requested during the second week of the Part of Term: 50% of Viking VALUE fees.

Requested during the third week of the Part of Term: 25% of Viking VALUE fees.


For parts of Term 8 weeks or less in duration: 

Requested prior to the start of the Part of Term: 100% of Viking VALUE fees.

Requested during the first week of the Part of Term: 25% of Viking VALUE fees.


If you choose to opt out of the Viking VALUE program and you are already in possession of the required physical textbooks, you are required to return these materials to the bookstore in their original condition within 3 days of opting out.

Please note the following: 

-All returned textbooks must be in original, resalable condition. The bookstore reserves the right to deny returns that are damaged, excessively worn, or otherwise not in resalable condition.

-Returns received after 3 days of opting out will not be accepted.

-If your textbook is not returned by the deadline or is not accepted due to its condition, you will be responsible for the cost of the materials
