RedShelf Help

Bookstore staff is happy to help walk you through gaining access to your eBook! Stop into the bookstore and grab a seat at our eBook help desk anytime throughout the semester!

Please note there is a difference between an eBook and Access Card.
If you purchased an access card, it is something you physically have to either pick up from the bookstore or have it mailed to you.
If you purchased an ebook, you will receive an email from RedShelf (after the bookstore fullfills your order, 24-48 hours) with your username and password. Once you login, you'll skip to step 3.

If you purchased an eBook in store and have a 16- digit code on your receipt:
1. Create/Login to hvcc.redshelf.com. We highly recommend using your hvcc.edu email address
2. Click your name & My Shelf- Enter your 16-digit code from receipt in 'Redeem RedShelf Access Code'
3. In your account under 'My Shelf', you'll see the item you purchased- Click on it, window on the right will open

If you purchased an eBook only- You can begin reading
If you purchased an item for Business Capstone, MindTap, Modified Mastering, MyLab, Revel or WebAssign-

1. Select 'Copy Code to Clipboard'

2. You need to locate either the class link or course key your instructor provided. This link/course key allows you to join in your teachers class assignments.

Pearson- Once you make an account, you will choose which platform you're looking for- MindTap, Modified Mastering, MyLab or Rebel and choose 'Get Access'. You'll use your course link/key provided by your instructor and the code you copied from RedShelf.
Cengage- Once you make an account, you'll find 'Enter Access Code/Course Key" in your Dashboard. You'll use your course link/key provided by your instructor and the code you copied from RedShelf.

You should now have access to your eBook materials. From this point forward, you will go directly to Pearson or Cengage, not back to RedShelf.

Cengage Unlimited- Allows you access to Cengage's entire library of etexts, online platforms and more. You can search for any etext or follow your instructor's course key to access class materials.

If you purchased Cengage Unlimited:

1. Select "Copy Code to Clipboard" in RedShelf
2. Go to www.cengage.com and create/login to your account
3. Find "Enter Access Code/Course Key" and paste the code from RedShelf
4. It should now say Unlimited on the top left of your screen
5. You will "Search the catalog" for the textbook you are using and add it to My Shelf
